Ingredients:
- 1 Lb. Ground beef, or beef cut into cubes
- 1 large, red onion
- 1 Tablespoon berbere sauce
- 1/2 cup nitir kibbeh
- 1 Clove of garlic, crushed
- 1/4 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/2 cup red wine
- Salt and pepper
Steps:
- Cook the onions till they turn brown in a little of the spiced butter but do not fully cook.
- Add meat and a little more spiced butter and brown.
- Add a little water and cook for 20 minutes.
- Mix the rest of the spiced butter, salt, pepper, garlic and the spices in a bowl and set aside.
- After 20 minutes add the contents of the bowl and continue to cook until the sauce is thick and the meat is tender.
- Serve with ayib (soft cheese) on the side.
- Minchet Abish can also be cooked with replacing the Berbere with a very small amount of turmeric for color.
